A man high on meth was arrested after hiding in a dumpster-style rail car during a four-hour standoff with cops.

Matthew Medlin, 32, told police in Portland he had taken methamphetamine and had been awake for more than 26 hours.

And when confronted by cops, Medlin injected himself with more meth, reported 1190 Kex News Radio.

The incident started after 1 a.m. Saturday when officers got reports of a man climbing on trains in the rail yard in Northwest Portland.

Medlin repeatedly picked up pieces of metal and rocks and held them as weapons.

Medlin was later booked into the Multnomah County Jail on several charges including first-degree criminal mischief, criminal trespassing, and an unrelated parole violation.

Mathew Medlin had on six days until his release on charges related to sex abuse, burglary and assault. Apparently, he couldn’t wait, as he allegedly scaled a fence at an Oregon correctional facility and walked away. The escape didn’t last long, as Medlin was caught 12 hours later, just a couple miles down the road from the prison. It’s a plot line straight out of a Coen Brothers movie.

Medlin's record stretches back to his 18th birthday in 2002, and one of his earliest mugshots shows a handsome young man with scant facial hair.

But as the years wind on, his photos become more menacing. In a 2007 image he is pictured with his eyes locked in a narrow glare, and what appear to be bruises and scrapes on his left ear and nose.

And in 2013, Medlin's infamous tattoos — two pointed 'eyebrows' and four roughly inked tears — appear for the first time. That year he was brought in by police on a number of occasions; one image shows him with black paint crudely scrawled across his face.
